Hasan Bazari, MD

       Dr. Hasan Bazariwas the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He has focused on the role of identity formation in professional training and how the training environment and culture influence the experience of trainees with an emphasis on guided reflection leading to mindfulness in practice as an increasingly important part of the training program curriculum.  He was an invited member of the Milestones Writing Group that wrote the Internal Medicine Milestones for Residency Training. He is the Program Director Emeritus and Director of the Swartz Initiative initiated in 2014 and created to take on the critical imperative of developing and implementing new strategies to build wellness among Massachusetts General Hospital’s trainees and faculty in Medicine. He has also collaborated to form a national Collaborative on physician wellness.
